Chemical Peels2020-01-21T14:20:01+11:00

Chemical Peels are often made of Alpha hydroxy acids (AHA’s) or beta hydroxyl acids (BHA’s) and are applied to the skin for improvement in pigmentation issues, textural concerns, acne and sun damage including solar keratosis. Chemical peels are a safe and effective way to exfoliate away the skins surface to improve the concerns outlined above. Depending on the issue of concern your physician will outline a treatment plan prescribing one of the following peels below.

TYPES of peels:

  • TCA
  • Lactic
  • Salicylic
  • Glycolic
  • Daylight PDT

Key Elements/Benefits:

  • Minimal downtime
  • Quick and easy
  • FDA AND TGA approved for photodamaged skin
  • Specific plan tailored to you

During Treatment:

The treatment is very similar to a facial, it can take up to 45 minutes to perform.

A cleanse, exfoliation, peel application, facial massage and moisturiser application occurs within the 45 minutes. The peels are often left on the skin anywhere from 3 – 10 minutes, whilst this is on a scalp massage is performed. A tingling, stinging or itching sensation can occur whilst the peel is applied, this is all normal and will go away when the peel is removed after the appropriate time frame.

After treatment

After the treatment is performed your skin may appear flushed and red. We advise no make up for 24 hours post treatment. In some cases the skin will appear white – we call this frosting. 3 – 4 days post treatment your skin may begin flaking and peeling, this usually subsides within 7 – 8 days. We encourage a good skincare regime at home which our physicians will talk to you about pre and post peel.

  • Radiant skin
  • Reduction in acne and acne scarring
  • Reduction in pigment in some circumstances
  • ** patient results vary accordingly, and although we endeavour to create the best possible result some clients will achieve a slightly better result than others.
