During the treatment:
The area will be disinfected to reduce the risk of infection. Either a needle or cannula will be used to inject the substance, some patients find this process more comfortable than others. Certain areas on the face are more sensitive than others, therefore pain will depend on area and dose of product.
After the treatment:
After the injections have been performed each patient is placed under the LED. This helps to reduce inflammation, bruising and tenderness. Due to the lidocaine in the fillers most people don’t experience tenderness until 4 hours post injections. Some people take Panadol to reduce this. Cold compress and icing is always recommended as much as desired.
Things to avoid post fillers:
- Avoid make up for the rest of the day
- Avoid smoking/alcohol
- Avoid active products (vitamin a and AHA/BHA’s)
- Avoid facials/massage or 2 weeks
- Avoid touching and massaging the area (unless directed by your practioner)
